An Autumn Wedding By The Coast At Raven Hall In North Yorkshire

I joined Kirsti & Kris for their Autumn wedding by the coast at Raven Hall Hotel in Ravenscar, North Yorkshire.
Raven Hall Hotel in Ravenscar is a brilliant spot for a wedding. Set right on the cliffs above Robin Hood’s Bay, it’s got space, fresh air, and some of the best coastal views in North Yorkshire. I loved photographing their autumn wedding — crisp air, shifting skies, and a great crowd. Just a solid, enjoyable day from start to finish.
The couple decided to do a first look before the ceremony, which worked really well. We found a quiet spot away from the arriving guests, and they got to take it all in together — no rush, no audience, just a real moment between the two of them. Always a nice way to ease into the day.
After the ceremony, we headed out for some portraits while the weather held. It was windy up on the edge (as you'd expect), but the sky had real depth to it — clouds moving fast, patches of light breaking through. Great for photography, and they fully leaned into it. No posing, just a walk, a chat, and a few good laughs with the sea behind them.
The rest of the day was relaxed. There were no forced formalities — just people catching up, sharing food, and making the most of the setting. I worked in and around the group, focusing on the real stuff: conversations, reactions, and those quiet in-between moments that actually tell the story of a wedding day.
If you're planning a wedding that’s about the people, the location, and a bit of fresh air — and you'd rather not turn it into a full-scale photoshoot — I’d love to hear from you.
